Rise: 

  • Multiple different camera shots
  • Video quality is good
  • Camera shots were on beat with the music 
  • clean transitions
  • The upbeat music really sets the tone for the film
Offline: 
  •  Genre- Horror
  • The film started off with typing on the screen, and then transitioned to the titles
  • The music sets an unsettling and creepy feeling
  • Transitions back and forth between a girl held hostage in a cage and her peers looking at her on social media, wondering where she is.
  • The music throughout sets the horror feeling
  • Lack of a plot
  • Low-Key Lighting is used
  • General Camera angles
Dear Lover: 
  • Genre-Romantic Drama
  • Song was credited in the beginning.
  • Has an outdoor setting.
  • The music fades, and a voiceover, which is probably the girl's thoughts begins.
  • Flashbacks
  • Different camera angles
  • Dialogue between the two characters is hard to hear
  • Has a clear storyline
Dare to Thrill: 
  • Genre-Action
  • The music was overbearing.
  • The film needed more lighting at the beginning.
  • The addition of seeing on screen what was on the phones is impressive.
  • Good camera quality, camera angle in the beginning.
Always Watching:
  • Genre- Horror
  • Overall, the acting was not convincing.
  • Lots of dialogue at the beginning.
  • The story was confusing with all the cutting for transitions.
  • Not a good inclusion of camera angles. 
  • The ending is not well cut off. 
The Blue Boar: 
  • Genre- Musical 
  • Mise-en-scene was used well
  • Music is well composed 
  • Great camera angles
  • Great editing work
White Coat:
  • Genre- Sci-fi (Science Fiction) 
  • Title sequence done with great animations.
  • Camera quality, camera angles and editing look almost professionally done.
  • The sounds add a nice mysterious touch, like the scientist is up to no good.
Stalker: 
  • Genre- Horror
  • This film does not have music.
  • Has varying camera angles, sounds and and titles.
  • Included sound effects like a phone alarm, a camera taking a picture, a beating heart, and suspense sounds. 
  • The sound quality is extremely quiet. 
  • The sound effects are too loud. 
Nostalgia: 
  • Genre- Drama
  • The film has good transitions
  • Has a great storyline
  • The music is quite fitting
  • The colors make it more eye-catching. 
Summary: Overall, I have been able to pick bits and pieces of the decent qualities from each film opening and have a general idea of how I am going to technically execute my own film opening.     I took the most from "The Blue Boar" and " White Coat."

Mise-en-scene: A Clockwork Orange

               For the film A Clockwork Orange, the setting begins in an early 1970's looking room, filled with semi-bright lighting focused on Alex and his "Droogs," and as the camera begins to pull back to show the rest of the room, the panels of light bulbs lining the walkway that led to Alex and his Droogs exposes the group of people in the room.  From people dressed in normal clothes, to soldiers holding their heads down. It is evident that the movie was filmed at some time in the 1970's, as the people wearing civilian clothing in the opening scene are wearing garments that are recognizable to what men wore during the 1970's. However, the setting is written to take place in the year 1980. The placement of Alex and his Droogs at the head of the room sets the notion that they are going to be the more important characters throughout the duration of the movie. Movie opener First Cut

 This filming experience has been a wild ride thus far. The first concept I had in mind did not work out for me, as I was to use a mirror in the hallway that wound up falling off the wall and breaking, and that happened to a second mirror. Then I unfortunately lost a large chunk of my opener, which was strange. Therefore, here I have a drafted concept of what I will most definitely polish up over Spring Break and will add sounds to as well to tie into my original idea.

Week 1 editing

 This week I had began my filming and used this video above  as a reference to how I wanted to execute my concept of putting a demon in the mirror, which would be fairly easy as I came to learn. First though, I began to compile my footage into Premier Rush on my phone, which is the mobile version of Adobe Premier Pro.
