3 Film Master Edits

Simultaneity:  In this clip from Mean Girls (2004), Simultaneity is shown as the screen is split between the girls while they are talking on the phone at the same in two different locations. On the left is Regina George (Rachel McAdams) and on the right is Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan). As most of this scene had suggestive content in it, I cut it short, but this scene shows the two on the same phone call at the same time. Furthermore, there is two completely different things happening in the background of each side.  Essentially, simultaneity is two actions occurring at the same time, in which a phone call could be considered simultaneity, along with what is going on in the background.

Symbolism: This scene from The Hunger Games is representative of symbolism, as Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) are in the carriage on fire. The fire in this scene is symbolic of the hope and passion of Katniss and Peeta's mission throughout the movie. The fire shows how the two will not be put down and will rise above all obstacles that they are put through. This scene could also be considered parallelism, as the scene cuts between the carriage and the spectators of the event.

Leitmotif: This scene from The Phantom of The Opera (2004), is the second half of the opening scene of the movie, where they expose the theater's chandelier at the auction. Leitmotif is the recognizable sound associated with a film, and the song that begins when the chandelier is uncovered is the leitmotif surrounding the entire movie. The song is called "The Phantom of The Opera" and is recognizable to most people who have heard the song, even without watching the movie. The song is played in multiple other scenes to identify the scenes that create a distinction between the past and present in the movie, where it is played without words in the present scenes, and is played with words in the past. Either way, the song is recognizable throughout the film.
