Why I am taking this class...

 Quite honestly, I did not know what this class was going to be, but I chose it because it sounded interesting. I have a goal to get my AICE diploma this year and this seemed like a very interesting class to choose in order to achieve that goal. I am excited to see what the year will bring for this class and what I will learn for future reference.

Classmate's Camera Shots

Aniya Jefferson: The three shots I chose to comment on her blog were the extreme close-up, the tilt shot, and the low angle shot. 1. Extreme Close-up: This shot she took grasped the concept of an actual extreme close-up very well and I could feel the awkwardness and anxiety of the shot because it fixated so close for so long. 2. Tilt: This shot was a shot that made me feel very minute and small in comparison to the tree. She was able to emphasize the tree's height, which also made her seem very small in comparison.  3. Semester Exam- Film Opening Analysis of Black Mirror (Season 3, Episode 4, San Junipero)

      Beginning with the extreme close up shot of the shoreline that dissolves into an establishing shot of the city of San Junipero at night, the clip creates a feeling of fun with the existing night life within the city. From there, a cutaway shot from the long, establishing shot of San Junipero to the front of the club called Tucker's that extends into a panning shot that follows the car full of college-age students in front of the diner that really emphasizes the feeling of a buzzing night life that sparks interest of the audience. The next camera shot, which cuts from the outside of the diner, to a close-up of the woman walking down the city strip and stopping in front of the television shop, develops a sense of curiosity and confusion that almost accentuates innocence in a way. The next moment, which is an over-the-shoulder shot from behind the woman, facing Tucker's, creates an enveloping moment where the audience can feel the woman bracing herself to reluctan...

Movie opener First Cut

 This filming experience has been a wild ride thus far. The first concept I had in mind did not work out for me, as I was to use a mirror in the hallway that wound up falling off the wall and breaking, and that happened to a second mirror. Then I unfortunately lost a large chunk of my opener, which was strange. Therefore, here I have a drafted concept of what I will most definitely polish up over Spring Break and will add sounds to as well to tie into my original idea.
